Ethylene Chlorohydrin (2 Chloroethanol) is used as a
solvent for celluloses resins and waxes and as a cleaning agent. It is
also an extraction solvent for the separation of butadiene from
hydrocarbon mixtures, for the dewaxing and removing cycloalkanes from
mineral oil, for pure lignin and for the refining of rosin. It is used as
a hydroxyethylating agent in organic synthesis such as ethylene oxide,
ethylene glycol, amines, carbitols, indigo, malonic acid and novocaine.
Its end aplications include dye intermediates, pharmaceuticals,
